Royal Family out in force for celebratory Buckingham Palace reception

A number of extended family members joined the gathering including the Duke of Kent and his sister, Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy. The siblings were first cousins ​​of the late Queen Elizabeth II, as children of her paternal uncle Prince George and his wife Princess Marina of Greece. The Duchess of Gloucester was also in attendance. Born in Denmark, Birgitte joined the royal family in 1972 when she married Prince Richard, now Duke of Gloucester, a son of the late Queen’s paternal uncle Prince Henry.

Last year the King and Queen Consort, then the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall visited Chinatown in London to celebrate the Lunar New Year. There they enjoyed a lion dance performance, visited local shops and organizations. The King also participated in a discussion on hate crimes against the Chinese and other East and Southeast Asian communities, while the Queen Consort visited the China Information and Advice Center to meet police officers, immigration officers and customers.
