Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Concept Art Shows an Older Adam Warlock
New concept art with some of them Adam Warlock’s early designs in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 were revealed, giving fans a glimpse of a slightly different version of the character.
What did Adam Warlock’s concept art look like?
Marvel Studios concept artist Jerad S. Marantz has posted a series of images of an earlier Adam Warlock design on his ArtStation. These designs show an older Adam Warlock with a slightly different look, although elements of the final Will Poulter look appear to be present.
In the caption, Marantz said:
“I got to do some early designs for Adam Warlock for Guardians of the Galaxy volume two [sic]. It’s always a great honor to work with the Marvel Visual Development team. Many thanks to Andy Park for recruiting me for this incredible project. The final design for Adam Warlock came from my good friend Constantine Sekiris!”
“In film, our beloved band of misfits looks a little different these days,” reads the synopsis for the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel. “Peter Quill, still suffering from the loss of Gamora, must gather his team to defend the universe while protecting one of theirs. A mission that, if not successfully completed, could potentially lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.”
Directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was released in theaters on May 5th. The sequel focuses on the backstory of Rocket – the armed and vicious raccoon voiced by Bradley Cooper – and his history with the film’s villain, The High Evolutionary (played by Chukwudi Iwuji). ).
