“Everything, Everywhere at Once” breaks records at the 29th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards
In another stunning triumph, wearing the awards train Everything everywhere at once stopped at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, breaking records along the way. The multiverse fantasy film broke the awards show record for most wins for a single film that night, winning four grand prizes in total. In addition to the evening’s most important award for Best Ensemble in a Motion Picture – the organization’s de facto award for Best Picture – it also won in the Best Female Leading Actress category. Additionally, Jamie Lee Curtis won the award for Best Supporting Actress Ke Huy Quan won the male equivalent and became the first Asian male to win an individual award in any film category at the SAG Awards. With his four wins Everything everywhere at once broke the record for most awards won. Since the awards ceremony began in 1995, only four films had managed to receive three. The winner for best male actor went to Brendan Fraser for his appearance in The whale.
At HBO’s television awards The White Lotus won for ensemble in a drama series while Jennifer Coolidge won the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Abbott Elementary School won the comedy ensemble award.
Jason Bateman took home the leading man in the dramatic television category ozarkwith The bear‘S Jeremy Allen White take home the comedy equivalent. At 32, he became the youngest winner. Jean Smart won the Female Comedy Award for Chop.
Everything everywhere at once has won several major awards leading up to the Academy Awards, including the Producers Guild Award for Best Picture and Best Director at the Directors Guild Awards.
