Robert Downey Jr. shocked fans with his new appearance while attending the Governors Awards at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The 57-year-old actor debuted his new bald look while walking the red carpet alongside his wife Susan at the star-studded event.

Robert has sported a buzz cut for the past few months, but he’s now taken it a step further by showcasing the clean-shaven style.

Usually recognizable by his dark, short, spiky hair, the Iron Man star now looks remarkably different.

In the evening, Robert looked dapper in a black suit and tie with a crisp white shirt paired with matching dress trousers.

Meanwhile, American film producer Susan, 49, looked elegant in a floor-length black dress with spaghetti straps and a sweetheart neckline.

She wore her brunette tresses in fairly loose waves and opted for a glamorous soft makeup palette.

There’s a reason for Robert’s new look — his role on HBO’s The Sympathizer.

Robert posted a video on Instagram of him getting a haircut from his kids at home in late October ahead of the new film.

Speaking to his children Exton, 10, and Avri, eight, they said: “I don’t want to go bald, so you guys shave my head?”

Whoa! Usually recognizable by his dark, short, spiky hair, the Iron Man star now looks remarkably different (pictured with Austin Butler, left).

The teens were then given electric clippers to shave off their father’s locks in the video, which was captioned, “The things we do for our jobs… and our kids.”

Robert debuted his shorter hair earlier this month at a special screening of Sr, a Netflix documentary about his late father.

He wore a graphic print t-shirt and a navy blue blazer.
