ISing Silicon Valley Presents HOLIDAY MEMORIES Celebrating 10 Years Of Song

iSing Silicon Valley kicks off its 10th Anniversary celebrations with Holiday Memories – two celebratory concerts on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. at Mission Santa Clara de Asís in Santa Clara, California. iSing – the award-winning choral program that brings together over 300 girls from diverse cultures and socio-economic backgrounds – will look back on ten years of singing traditional and contemporary Christmas carols and new works, including the world premiere of Kenyon Duncan’s Chorea Lucis.
The premiere of Kenyon Duncan’s new work is part of iSing’s robust commissions initiative, which has produced nearly 30 new treble pieces to date. The concert also features holiday favorites ‘Sleigh Ride’, ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’ and ‘Vuelie’ (made famous by the film ‘Frozen’) as well as contemporary works such as ‘Oculi Omnium’ by Nico Muhly, ‘Ubi flumen praesulis’ by Gabriel Jackson and “Stars”, Erik Esenvald’s heavenly work for voices and tuned water glasses. iSing will be joined by the Friction Quartet and other guest artists from the Bay Area.
“iSing’s annual Christmas concert at Mission Santa Clara is loved by everyone in the iSing community and beyond,” said iSing Artistic Director Jennah Delp Somers. “We are excited to create a concert for everyone: families, friends, choral enthusiasts and first-time concert-goers. There is no better way to start the season and get into the Christmas spirit.”
iSing Silicon Valley’s tenth anniversary season will mark a performance with acclaimed mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato on January 20, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. at the Bing Concert Hall in Stanford, CA, and a short performance to open the St. Olaf Choir’s touring concert continued on February 4, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, CA.
