Gerald Taylor Becraft (Jerry)


Gerald Taylor Becraft (Jerry), 81, died on January 26, 2023.
He was born on November 3, 1941 to Henry Taylor and Virginia Becraft. He is survived by his loving wife Josie and children Natalie (Wes) Colvin, Mark (Lynne), Paul (Shandra), Dale (Kellie) with 22 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and sister Susan Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Michael Becraft.
His unconditional love for his family and everyone who met him was influenced in their lives by knowing him. Throughout his life he made a commitment and sacrifice to service and care for others. He will be remembered for his love of golf and telling jokes.
Jerry graduated from Ben Lomond High School and attended Weber State University. He retired from the Department of Defense after 35 years of service. During his lifetime he served with the American Red Cross, National Ski Patrol (Snow Basin) and served 35 years as a FireFighter/EMT and Fire Inspector for the Roy City community.
Catholic Mass will be held Friday, February 3 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church 514 24th Street Ogden, Utah, followed by an open house from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Clinton City Community Center, 1651 W. 2300 N Clinton, Utah.
A memorial service honoring his dedication and service to the Roy Fire Department and the community he served will be held on Saturday, February 4 at 2:00 p.m. Roy City Fire Department Station 31, 5051 S. 1900 W. Roy, Utah.
