Kevin Federline has denied reports that his ex-wife Britney Spears is using drugs.

Reporter Daphne Barak claimed to the Sun and Daily Mail earlier this month that she had a conversation with Federline, 45, about Spears, 41.

“‘I’m afraid she’s on meth – I’ve been praying for someone to come out and wake her up. It’s scary. She’s my boys’ mom,'” Barak claimed the former dancer told her about the Crossroads actress in an article published on Saturday, June 10.

Federline, who co-parents sons Sean Preston, 17, and Jayden James, 16, with Spears, vehemently denied the allegations.

“It saddens our family that Daphne Barak and Erbil Gunasti have decided to fabricate lies and publicize the grief our family has endured and the trauma of our underage children in the Daily Mail and The Sun,” wrote the graduate of the Celebrity Fit Club in an article Sunday June 11 Instagram story statement. “We let Daphne and Bill into our home because we trusted them, but that trust was lost and we cut ties in March for many reasons that made us choose not to go here. It is very worrying that she continues to harass our family despite our repeated pleas to leave us alone.”

Federline – who also shares children Kaleb and Kori with his ex Shar Jackson and two daughters with wife Victoria Prince – noted that he and his sons have spoken to both Barak and Gunasti “a few times,” but only on “Respectful manner with love and compassion for Britney and the Spears family.”

The DJ concluded: “The lies and attempts to exploit minors for clickbait is another repulsive example of where certain journalism is sadly at today.”

Spears also apparently responded to the allegations. “The fact that people claim things that aren’t true is so sad,” she wrote on Instagram on Sunday. “It might not even be like that.” [my sons] Saying things like that because it doesn’t make sense to me that they would say that. … It makes me sad because I tried so hard to make things beautiful [Preston and Jayden] and it was never good enough. So when you guys stand behind my back and talk about me, it breaks my heart. It’s sad because everyone sits back like it’s okay to lie to that extent.”

The story goes on

The “Stronger” singer and Federline were married between 2004 and 2006. After their divorce, they continued to be co-parents to Sean Preston and Jayden before Spears fell out with her boys.

“I think mum struggled to give both of us attention and show us the same love and I don’t think she showed Preston enough and I’m really sorry,” Jayden claimed to the Daily Mail in September 2022. “We’ve both been under so much pressure in the past that this is now our safe place to process all of the emotional trauma we’ve been through and to heal our mental state.”

Spears responded to his allegations via her Instagram at the time, noting that during her tenure as conservator she “tried my best to be the best person I could be.” (Spears was placed under her father Jamie Spears’ stewardship in 2013 after a series of public disputes, which eventually ended in November 2021.)

Us Weekly confirmed earlier this month that Federline was planning to relocate his brood to Hawaii, a move Britney has agreed to.
